Arlington is now ranked as one of the most educated cities in the US. Working professionals; government employees and students who have their residences at Arlington have contributed immensely to its economic development. The city also caters to the needs of the ever increasing student population of Arlington and Washington DC who come from all parts of the world. The Orange Blue and Yellow lines of the Washington Metro serve Arlington. It is also served by the commuter rail Virginia Railway express, the regional public bus Metro bus, and a local public bus system; Arlington Transit.

One of these trails, the Mount Vernon trail runs for 17 miles along the Potomac, continuing through Alexandria to George Washington’s plantation home.
Arlington has numerous planned housing complexes. Most of the housing options are cost effective and people looking towards houses for purchase or rent will find enough to satisfy them. Arlington County is also the place of the Arlington National Cemetery, the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and the Pentagon.
