There are several things that can be accomplished while they are at the grave. They can take the time to note the dates on the tombstone and any irregularities in spelling that differ from any of the records that they may have on the family.

Some family genealogy studies will require trips to the courthouse. By gathering dates of marriage, divorce and death, they can feel relieved to know that they have the right information in the genealogy charts that they are making. Creating genealogy charts that are accurate and precise in all details is one of the most important factors of having the charts completed by members of the family and not by a company who knows nothing about the family history.
