Diamond Cutters Are Safer and Better for Drilling

By: Terry Fitzroy

When drilling in a mine, or drilling a well, there are several different factors to consider. One of them is safety. The other one is quality. This article will attempt to highlight one simple fact that will improve both drilling safety, and quality with one simple change. If you are in the drilling industry and have your own opinions I would indeed enjoy hearing what you have to say on this topic so please read carefully, and let me know your thoughts.

First of all, this one change that I mentioned has to do with changing the bit. And that's all. Quite simply, diamond cutters are safer and better for drilling than non diamond cutters. The same thing goes for any other tool that you might be using to cut, or drill with. Not that you need diamonds on all of your tools, that would be ridiculous. But you need the sharpest, hardest tool for the job, no matter what that job may be. When I tried to explain this to my wife, she had a hard time trying to comprehend how something more sharp could be safer anytime, but she soon caught on to what I was trying to say to her.

First of all, diamond cutters are safer because they are much sharper. Again you might say 'how is sharp safe'. Let me explain: A very sharp tool is a tool you don't have to worry about getting hung up during the job. It's going to be clean straight through the entire cut. The same goes for any house hold tool, even scissors for example. Dull scissors are more likely to cause you to cut yourself in the event that they are not sharp enough to get through what you are cutting. You will have to strain your muscles more to get through the substance, and consequently you might hurt yourself. The same goes for a diamond drill bit. It is the sharpest one you can use, so you don't have to worry about it getting hung up on anything.

Secondly, diamond cutters are better than non diamond cutters are for drilling because of the same reason. Not only do they provide a higher level of safety in the work zone, they also get the job done more effectively. The power of a diamond drill bit is really quite remarkable. Though they might cost a good bit more to purchase, they are well worth it.

In addition to being safer, and more effective for the job, they are more cost effective. Now you might wonder why I just said that they might cost good bit more, and then turned around and said that they are more cost effective. Well, it is because of the first two factors. Because it's safer you are preventing most likely to happen injuries that might be sustained given the wrong tool, and you are keeping yourself from having to do the job again, costing you more time, and money. Diamond cutters are safer, better, and cheaper in the long run to use.
