It is vacation time and it is so exciting! You are getting out all the things you plan to take with you and it will likely be too much, especially for women, it always is. Hotel room theft can occur sometimes even in the best establishments, and even if you are compensated for your loss, it can not replace the dinner ring inherited from your grandmother.

Keep your valuable items like your jewelry with you at all times on the way to your destination. The expensive jewelry you take on your trip is defiantly something you do not want to end up in a lost luggage pile who knows where. Jewelry should be packed into a small secure container of some sort that will not crush or open easily. If you can, fit the container in your purse, if not it should be in a carry on bag that locks. Never put valuable jewelry in a bag that is stored under the plane. You might get it back or you might not.

When traveling in some places tourist are often targets for thieves. If the area you are going to be in is known for pickpockets and muggings, by all means do not wear your good jewelry. Wait until you are in a safer environment to wear the good stuff! The last thing you want to have to think about on vacation is being robbed, and if you are flaunting valuable looking pieces of jewelry, it could attract attention alright, the wrong kind!
