Everyone gets them and everyone gives them, but is there a point to them? Gag gifts can be funny and excellent for making a home or office Christmas party that much funnier. Laughter is always a great gift.

While they do make us laugh and can be a hit at the office, are they really worth the money to buy?

Think about it, you are buying a piece of merchandise for someone that will give them a momentary laugh, make you a hit at the party, and it may be the center of attention for a while, but after the party, even by the next gift, the thrill and hilarity of it has worn off.

Gag gifts come in many different packages. They can be sexual, general, disgusting or innovative. Usually, they do not cost much, but they get the big laughs.

What does it say to the person that you buy a gag gift for? Is it an appropriate gift to give someone when all you are really saying is that you aren't worth the time to buy a gift for, so I will just give you a gag gift that you will use for about five minutes before forgetting about it?

Of course, it's your money and you have the right to decide how to use it when you buy someone a gift. It is also your right to show someone that you like them enough to have a laugh at their expense.

There are so many good gifts out there that there is no reason that you can't go out and buy them a real gift that is not useless and pointless.

Gag gifts are not exactly the best gift for Christmas, birthday, anniversary or any other special occasions unless it is for a close friend. If you are going to give a gag gift, buy a small gift, which is real to go along with it. This will show the person that you bought the gag gift for, that you enjoy having fun with them, but the real gift will show they still mean something to you.

Gag gifts can be a lot of fun at any party and should be a part of the equation, but never go overboard and make sure the person who you give the gift for is not going to be offended by it. Gag gifts can be offensive but in the right setting, they can be a hit.
